Welcome Back !
My favorite October holiday celebration is Halloween. Scheduling time off from work is hard especially to enjoy “fun”with family and friends at gatherings for creating unique costumes, planning parties, and events.
I must ask myself: “How do I end my guilt for scheduling “fun”?
First, I had to rethink the role of “fun” in my work- life balance.
Second, I discovered my “fun” provides opportunities to meet and connect with others to build relationships, friendships, and life memories.
Finally, I decided “FUN” enjoyed with others is essential in my life as it increases my happiness and well-being.
Beverly E. Jones confirms my view of the value of “Fun” in her book “Find Your Happy at Work – 50 ways to get unstuck, move past boredom and discover fulfillment.” She summarizes the key takeaway lesson from the Harvard Happiness Study as: “The quality of your relationships is critical to your health and happiness. If you want to create a rewarding life and successful career, you should make relationship building a top priority.”
How are you planning to have fun this Halloween?
I look forward to meeting you over a cup of coffee and conversation.
