October is my favorite “fun” month. I enjoy all Halloween festivities, specially creating costumes and masks!
Wearing Halloween costumes and masks is an opportunity to experiment temporarily with a different identity. It’s all for the fun of the night, right?
John Cena’s book “Be a Work in Progress” and “Other Things I’d Like to tell my younger self “ with Valeria Petrone’s clever illustrations offers “bits of wisdom” for the reader’s reflection, such as:
“Be who you say you are. This sounds easy, but how many people do you know who project one life then live another?”
“How we view ourselves is often not how we are perceived by others. Surround yourself with those who give honest-- even uncomfortable -opinions about who you are to them.”
"To know who you are is to know who you are not."
"Always be a work in progress."
The “Be a Work in Progress” challenge is not reading the simple, short “bits of wisdom”, it is in taking a moment to stop and reflect on how they relate to you, and the masks you wear?
